 | | Farewell Alan Gawne |
| Received the following information from John Makinson:
Sadly I have to inform you of the passing away of Alan Gawne peacefully on Wednesday last week in Macclesfield Hospital. I am sure that not all of you would have known or remember Alan.
He originally worked around Wilmslow and ended up as the TOA in Congleton exchange around the time of the installation of the then new TXE4A unit. Unfortunately he went on holiday to Greece one year and returned with Hepatitis B and after a brave fight he had to leave BT on ill health grounds in the mid 1990s. Eventually after many years he had a Liver transplant but along the way had many other problems with his hearing, his eyesight etc. but through it all he remains upbeat.
Alan was 66 years old and leaves a wife Carol, two sons and two grandchildren.
Alan's funeral arrangements: 2:00pm on Tuesday 3rd March at Macclesfied Crematorium. |
