 | | Farewell Barry Winton |
| | I have just received the sad news of the passing away of Barry Winton. His wife, Christine, sent the following note:
Barry died following a massive stroke on Sunday evening. He died Monday lunchtime, his Funeral is on Monday 2nd March at 10.40am at Macclesfield Crematorium. SK10 3BU
For afterwards Christine has arranged a buffet at her home,
Larkhall Road,
Macclesfield
SK10 1QP.
(Please advise if attending as she would appreciate an idea of numbers for catering. You can email me at mike.ku@btmrstaff.co.uk and I will forward to Christine.)

| | Farewell Dave Wilson |
| | Dave Wilson worked for many years on the Dial House Construction staff. He passed away after loosing an eighteen month battle with cancer on Friday 9th January.
Dave was one of the Dial House stalwarts and a gentle giant he will be sadly missed.
Dave's funeral will be held at:-
10:10am Friday 30th January
The Manchester Crematorium (Southern Cemetery)
Barlow Moor Rd, Manchester, M21 7GZ

 | | Goodbye Geoff Kennedy |
| | Stuart Cameron contacted us with this sad news.
Geoff passed away last week aged 83. He worked in Deansgate and Tandem then on rota in Blackfriars test in Dial House.
If any information about Geoff's funeral gets posted with us I'll add the notice accordingly. |

| | Neil contacted us on the contact page. He wrote:
Hello
A friend of mine, Jim Perkins, posted some messages trying to find people who I worked with on coin box telephones at Crossley St, Gorton, many years ago (it was then Post Office Telecomms, before BT had begun).
Subsequently, somebody called D Appleby posted a message saying that Dave Davies, who used to work on coin boxes, now lives in Abergele North Wales.
Can you please tell me how I can contact D Appleby, to see if he has any contact details for Dave Davies? I'd love to be able to get in touch with him.

Unfortunately we have no contact details for D Appleby or Dave Davis. D Appleby (sorry don't have a first name) has posted information on our site previously, but without contact details.

ROY PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY 4TH JULY 2014.

| | Sad loss of Hilda Barnes |
| | Sadly on Wednesday 2nd July 2014 Hilda Barnes died suddenly
of a Brain Haemorrhage after fighting with Parkinsons for a
number of years.
She spent most of her B.T. life in Dial House.
The family have informed us that her funeral will take
place on Tuesday 15th July at 1100 hours, at Radcliffe Crematorium
M26 4EU. If you would like further information please contact
Gillian on 0161-798-0460.
The family would also like to extend an invite to join them
at The Welcome Inn ,Bury Old Road Radcliffe after the funeral. |

| | Colin Bennett emailed us with this sad news
Ian Wilson sadly passed away last week after a battle with cancer.
Ian, 64, was a stalwart of the customer works group based at Shepley and later part of the sales group.
Ian's Funeral will be:-
Tuesday 17th June

3pm at Dukinfield Crematorium

| | Barry Winton Update |
| | For those of you that remember Barry Winton just thought that I would give you an update on his ill health. His wife does send out regular emails advising on his progress.
Back in March 2012 he had an operation for Pancreatic Cancer and has been well on the mend since but last week his wife sent me an email to advise that he had now suffered a stroke and was currently in Macclesfield Hospital, Ward 11.
I gather Barry and Christine moved back to Macclesfield this February having spent the last few years up in Lancs and Cumbria area. She says 'Speech is still garbled at times,but his word memory is returning thank goodness, writing is more of a problem but he is having lots of therapy to improve things. He is mobile and getting fed up with hospital life, but not done a runner yet!!!'
If anybody would like to visit or get more information please get back to me. Any further updates will be posted here.
