 | | Shirley Lightbowne- Didsbury DQ. |
| In December 2016 I purchased a bungalow in Cheadle Hulme from the excutors of ' an estate '. The owners Shirley & Doug Lightbown had passed away within months of each other. It would appear Shirley worked in Didsbury DQ and then in Dial House, retiring in the mid 90's.
Since moving here I have received Christmas Cards from who I am told are former colleagues at BT, one of which still comes from a ' JEAN ' from North Manchester- who sadly has no idea that Shirley passed away in May 2015. Just hoping that Jean or anyone that knows her could pass this kindly on be it sad news but very belatedly...
Thank you - Alfred Brown. |

 | | Dave Crowley says thank you to all! |
| Just a brief note to say a massive thank you to all those people who came to my retirement Do in March.
I was totally overwhelmed by the turnout as it wasn't the easiest place to get to. We've had a tough time on the homefront recently, so please forgive me for all the drunken 'man hugs' I was dishing out!!
Numerous people who couldn't attend also took the time to send me a good luck message which I really really appreciated. Honestly, I've been extremely humbled with it all.
Again, it just emphasises that although the company has changed, we've all been lucky to meet and work with some really great people. Please forgive my waffling.Once again THANK YOU TO ALL. |

 | | Ken Knott |
| I've just joined this group. Worked for BT from 1984 to 2002.
Many will remember my Dad, Ken Knott. Lots will know he passed away in March 2013 following a battle with cancer. The number of of people who attended his funeral, particularly BT colleagues was amazing and showed us how well respected he was and it was a consolation to us seeing all of you there. A huge thank you to all of you that gave him the send off he deserved. My brother and nephew both work for BT |
