 | | Farewell Terry Gaskill |
| | Phil Cumberworth contacted us with the sad news of Terry's death.
Terry Gaskill aka Terry-dactyl passed away on the 30th May at the age of 92. Although a lifetime friend of my parents I knew him from working together in the 70's at Droylsden Telephone Exchange.
He then got an enviable transfer to Saddleworth and was in his element because it was just 2 miles from his home in Mossley and he could cycle everyday.
He was a story teller, had a new joke every day and did Tom and Jerry impressions whilst running around equipment racks.........happy days.
My lasting memory is trapping my GPO overcoat in his car door and being dragged down the street.
He was preceded by his wife Margaret and leaves behind Jenny and Richard.
Thanks,
Phil Cumberworth.

Only just seen this post and sorry to have missed the funeral. What a fine chap Terry was. Many happy memories working with him at both Droylsden and Saddleworth. I remember Phil's overcoat trapped in the Saab door, and the frantic running as Terry drove off.😅 Terry used to drop us both off in Mossley. I chuckled all the way home. Alan Parry. |
